‘On Friday night Friends of Oberon Library  (FOOLs) hosted a concert featuring Keith Potger (from The Seekers) which about 80 people attended. As well as with his mellow voice singing old and new favourites, many his own compositions, Keith’s sense of humour had the audience captivated.

The concert was a great success and, judging by the comments and smiling faces, was enormously enjoyed by everyone who together generated a wonderful ambience.

Keith and his partner Elizabeth extended their visit to Oberon over the weekend with a ukulele workshop and a ‘steam up’ experience with the Local Heritage and Collectors Club.’

Oberon Review Thursday 1 December 2017

KEITH POTGER the founding member of the internationally famous group The Seekers to performed Melodies & Memories at the Robert Hooper Community Centre on Friday 25th November at 7.30PM.

The concert is a solo show by Keith featuring a few Seekers’ hits, some songs from his three solo CDs and some of his all time favourites. Throughout his concert, he shares amusing anecdotes from over 50 years in the international music scene.

He accompanies himself on his 1967 Maton 12 string guitar, which is the guitar that has made The Seekers’ instrumental sound so unique. He also has taken up the ukulele and features a couple of new songs that he has co-written specially for this instrument. Audiences love this new material and sing along after only a few bars of each song.

Keith is known to countless fans and this is obvious in the welcome given to him by audiences round the world. He has just returned from successful tours of South Australia, Tasmania and Queensland, including appearances at the Noosa Long Weekend Festival. He was in Melbourne and Sydney for the premieres of Georgy Girl The Seekers Musical which received rave reviews for the seasons there and also in Perth.
